Over the weekend, I noticed that one of the books published by 8th Note Press in fall 2024 has been republished by the author on her own. The 8th Note Press Instagram account: also taken down.
While there are still 8th Note Press titles to be found for sale, all signs indicate 8th Note Press is closing. No source would go on the record, but at least some agents and authors are in the process of securing rights reversions. One 8th Note author with a release date in October 2025, Megan Jauregui Eccles, vague-posted on Instagram about a distressing publishing situation that I can only interpret as related to 8th Note.
Last month I reported on 8th Note Press and their lack of traction in the market. Assuming they are indeed closing, the effort barely lasted two years.
