Following his guilty plea, Italian citizen Filippo Bernardini, the man who stole pre-publication manuscripts for his personal reading pleasure for several years, was sentenced to time served. He will be deported and pay restitution of $88,000 to Penguin Random House in monthly installments. His crime carried a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison.
