Another cookbook leads the Hidden Gems list this month, published by Union Square (the publishing arm of Barnes & Noble): What to Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking by Caroline Chambers. The author has a significant Instagram and Substack presence; her first cookbook released in 2018 from Chronicle Books.
Other areas of interest:
- A self-published book ranks well on Hidden Gems, at number 17: Chef AJ’s Sweet Indulgence: Guilt-Free Treats Sweetened Naturally with Fruit by Chef AJ. The author has a daily YouTube show and has published several other successful books, including one on weight loss.
- Freida McFadden is hitting the lists with a new self-published satirical novella, The Widow’s Husband’s Secret Lie. Readers say that McFadden pokes fun at herself in this humorous but also suspenseful story. Unsurprisingly, some readers complain about the book because they don’t realize it’s a satire.
