In our 2024 outlook, we said we’d be watching for a larger trend of traditional publishers partnering with successful self-published authors for mutual benefit. And now we have a good sign: Entangled Publishing, an independent publisher distributed by Macmillan, has picked up a dozen romance authors, acquiring print rights to their bestselling ebooks. (Entangled publishes romantasy author Rebecca Yarros, a top-selling author in 2023.) Most of these 12 authors write series, so the number of titles involved is about 80. Each title will get a “fresh read” by editors and new artwork. Authors joining include A.L. Brody, K Bromberg, R.S. Grey, Melanie Harlow, Helena Hunting, AL Jackson, Jodi Ellen Malpas, Marni Mann, Monica Murphy, Elizabeth O’Roark, Laura Pavlov, and Tijan. Learn more.
