Sasha White, an agent at Tobias Literary Agency, was fired last month for tweets about trans people. Publishers Lunch reports (subscription required) that the agency posted, “We do not have any room for anti-trans sentiments at TLA. Period. Thus, we have parted ways with Sasha.” White’s tweet was in fact a retweet (of this) by her personal, non-agency account, @iamGrushenka, where her bio says, “gender non conformity is wonderful, denying biological sex not so.” A full writeup of the situation can be found at Book and Film Globe.
