NetGalley, the advance review copy service used primarily by traditional publishers, is launching a consumer marketing website later this year called Booktrovert. A press release says the site will help readers “celebrate their love of books by participating in digital giveaways, special promotions, and fun bookish activities.”
NetGalley’s president says, “Publishers have long asked how they can best utilize NetGalley’s tools for their consumer marketing efforts, and it’s no secret publishers, authors, and readers alike are seeking more options for secure ebook giveaways. We’re excited to answer the call with Booktrovert, opening up a significantly wider audience and connecting even more readers to more books.”
As of today, authors typically facilitate digital giveaways and ARCs using BookFunnel. It will be interesting to see how Booktrovert’s pricing compares to BookFunnel, which starts at $20 per year.
