The new year is often full of organizational announcements; here are the latest to be aware of.
- HarperCollins has partnered with a film production company, Temple Hill Entertainment, to “generate original ideas and opportunities for books and series” that HarperCollins will publish. Temple Hill has produced—or is in the process of producing—adaptations of books by John Green, Stephenie Meyer, Nicholas Sparks, and James Frey. Read more in The Hollywood Reporter.
- Little, Brown UK is relaunching its teen publishing imprint, Atom, to reflect the evolution of young adult fiction. More info at The Bookseller.
- Orion has closed The Murder Room, a digital-only vintage crime imprint that began in fall 2012. Find out more at The Bookseller.
- Harvard Common Press (HCP) has been sold to Quarto Publishing Group. HCP’s titles focus on cooking and child care; they will become an imprint of Quarto moving forward and operate out of Quarto’s offices. - Apparently, Byliner is back as an imprint of Pronoun.
