The prolific author of more than 100 books, Diana Palmer got her start as a newspaper reporter. A New York Times bestselling author who has been voted one of the top 10 romance writers in America, Palmer lives with her family in Cornelia, Georgia. New York Times bestselling author Teri Wilson writes heartwarming, feel-good contemporary romance. Four of Wilson’s books, including fan favorite Unleashing Mr. Darcy, have been adapted into Hallmark Channel movies.

This edition of Rancher’s Law was a special release to celebrate the publisher’s 75th anniversary. It included two novels: Rancher’s Law by Diana Palmer and a bonus read, Wilson’s Dog Days of SummerRancher’s Law is a heartfelt romance novel in which a Texas detective and his former neighbor reunite. In Dog Days of Summer, the only thing standing between Maple Leighton and her dream of becoming a veterinarian is one year in small-town Texas.

When asked what contributed to the book landing on the New York Times bestseller list, Wilson said: “I was thrilled when Harlequin asked me to contribute to this book, because as we all know, Diana Palmer is an icon. I knew that a lot of readers who perhaps had never read my work before would be reading one of my novels for the first time. I really wanted to maximize the opportunity, so I chose to launch a brand new series with Dog Days of Summer and set it in Texas (my home state!) because I knew Diana’s readers would enjoy that setting.”

In the story, the heroine is uprooted from New York and ends up in a fish-out-of-water romance in the Lone Star State, where she inherits a therapy dog. “I think (hope!) the way the two books fit together in this way helped make Rancher’s Law appealing to readers,” Wilson said. Further, she believes that participating in a special edition celebrating a major milestone in Harlequin history contributed to it reaching bestseller status.

“I believe very strongly that if an author writes what is near and dear to their heart, it will shine through in their writing. Therapy dogs are a big part of my life. My own dog, Charm, is a therapy dog, and we visit schools and senior centers in our community every week. I always tell other authors that if they feel passionate about what they’re writing, the reader will know and it will contribute to the book’s success,” Wilson said.
