ProWritingAid has launched a novel-writing contest called Novel Beginnings. Any writer who is unrepresented or not traditionally published can submit the first 5,000 words of their novel manuscript. A grand-prize winner will receive $50,000, and up to nine emerging writers will be awarded $5,000. Shortlisted writers will participate in a structured manuscript development program.
