Amazon Author Pages get a redesign

Amazon has dramatically redesigned the Amazon Author Page (free for authors to claim and customize), but in doing so has removed the ability for authors to include supplementary media. The changes affect the US-based Amazon store only.

Side by side comparison of the old and new Amazon Author page. The old version had a bio at left of the window, with a large author photo. There's also a row of thumbnail images of books, below which is a row labeled Author Updates containing videos, photos and blog post content pulled in from other sites. The new version is more minimal and streamlined, with much more white space. The bio shows only a 1-sentence preview, with a small author photo. The row of book cover thumbnails is gone, replaced by a single book thumbnail labeled Most Popular. The Author Updates row is gone. Scrolling down the page will reveal detail about more books by the author.
