Last fall, the University of Nevada Las Vegas announced that it would be closing The Believer this spring. Even though its original owner, McSweeney’s, wanted to buy it back, UNLV sold the magazine to Paradise Media. Paradise describes itself as “experts in disrupting—and dominating—the most cutthroat niches on the planet, including iGaming, finance, dating, and more.” Read a letter from The Believer’s founder about the matter.
