According to Publishers Lunch (subscription required), as of March 2024, PRH has made an internal generative AI tool available to its employees as an alternative to the public version of ChatGPT. PRH’s version is hosted in a secure environment and protects the publisher’s proprietary information, including portions of manuscripts, should they be input into the system. Over time, PRH plans to feed its own model with internal data. Employees have been told that the app might be useful in summarizing books and documents, revising emails, drafting blog posts or job descriptions, analyzing text-based data, and generating ideas for content.
