Industry review outlet Foreword Reviews is launching Library Insights Summit (LIS), a day-long event for librarians and publishers. It will take place right before the annual American Library Association conference on June 23, 2023, at McCormick Place in Chicago. The event offers publishers the opportunity to hear directly from librarian innovators so that they might collaborate better. Sari Feldman, past president of the American Library Association, will be one of the keynote speakers, as will Candlewick author Kate DiCamillo. Programming will include sessions on how publishers can work better with librarian distributors, best practices for pitching books to libraries, maneuvering through the banned-book thicket, understanding diversity using the same lens as a librarian when it comes to collection development, and more. Discounts are available for members of IBPA, PIC, PubWest, and ALA. Read more.
