Ebook distributor Draft2Digital has entered into a retail distribution agreement with Fable, the social reading app that powers online book clubs. Draft2Digital will distribute self-published books to Fable, joining Ingram, Big Five publishers, and some independent publishers who already supply the app. Launched in 2021, Fable now hosts 25,000 book clubs and has 650,000 members. Its app offers an integrated bookstore where readers can purchase and download ebooks and read them inside Fable. Readers can also import their ebooks from Kindle into their Fable libraries.
Fable plans to introduce an ongoing merchandising feature dedicated to bestselling authors distributed by Draft2Digital. Other opportunities for indie authors include advance reading copy giveaways to generate pre-orders as well as Pub Day Clubs to incentivize readers to talk about newly released titles. Fable plans to report sentence-level insights to Draft2Digital about how readers engage with an author’s book when that book is read within a club.
Distribution to Fable is available now for Draft2Digital authors and publishers who manually opt in. Learn more.
